Good or bad? Is there already a related thread?

Funnily enough we don't. May I be the first to post this:

Personally, I don't think it makes a huge difference whether you perform cardio fasted or not. All that hair-splitting stuff is about allowing already proficient athletes to achieve minor extra gains to put them slightly ahead. For most of us, it doesn't matter.

I agree with Knight Errant. For me the thing to consider would be is would getting up early to run be something you can do regularly and keep enough motivation to do. Personally, I find I'm not good at early morning exercise. I'm really not a morning person and tend to feel grotty for the rest of the day if I do exercise first thing.

Depends on what you want out of the workout (run) and what your personal circumstances are.

I never liked to train in a depleted state, I mostly just do it because I don't wake up early enough to eat and digest before the morning is unbearably hot. Here in the tropics it doesn't take long at all to heat up once the sun comes up. I don't want to wake up crazy early so I guess I'll just continue doing what I'm doing.

My goal is to get the same kind of 5k times I did back in high school and once I'm happy with my 5k then focus on 10k. I'm kind of burnt out on martial arts, got tired of going home with bruises and welts all the time, so now I'm back on my high school sport. I'm on the fence when it comes to this topic of running hungry, but leaning more on the "it's gotta make you stronger" side.

how deconditioned are you? I mean, you might find this helpful:

Or you might be way beyond that point. Either way, best of luck.
